The registry operator for .fr as well as overseas territories .re, .pm, .tf, .wf and .yt is calling for comments on a mediation service, as a new amicable conflict resolution procedure.
This service would add to the already existing procedures, SYRELI and PARL-EXPERT.
The mediation process would last for 7 days, be free of charge and rely solely on the consent of the concerned parties.
The AFNIC mediators would be trained in the process of mediation and will have as their mission to facilitate negotiations between the parties.
Subject to easy implementation, IP Twins is favorable to this new mechanism, which will make it possible to safeguard the rights of trademark holders. There remains the question of the domain owners commitment to this mediation, as in the vast majority of cases, the owners never respond to complaints.
