3DNS, a blockchain domain pioneer, has teamed up with the .box top-level domain (TLD) and Optimism to secure new TLDs .CHAIN and .SUPER, in the next ICANN TLD expansion (in 2025). Initially, this partnership will introduce subdomains like .chain.box and .super.box, allowing users to register third-level domains such as alice.chain.box. Should they secure the TLDs, 3DNS will then offer domains like example.chain and example.super.
This initiative aims to revolutionize digital identity and domain management. The .box domains already integrate Web3 and Web2 technologies, supporting traditional browsers and email while providing decentralized ownership and DNS record management.
