Lifting of restrictions for .BOT domain extension
At 16:00 UTC this Monday, October 30th, the .BOT generic top-level domain (gTLD) from Amazon Registry Services will enter general availability. Previously, Amazon has limited access to .BOT domains exclusively to registrants using an artificial intelligence (AI) application, also known as bot.
The purpose of the .bot extension is to help people easily identify websites that are related to bots, robots, or artificial intelligence. It’s also a way to promote that the domain name directs to a website which uses bots or some form of artificial intelligence.
