Would Bruce Wayne invest part of his fantastical financial inheritance in cryptocurrency? It is, in any case, a fantasy that a cybersquatter tried to realize by appropriating the domain name <batmanerc.com>.

DC Comics, owner of the BATMAN trademark, has therefore initiated a UDRP procedure to take control of <batmanerc.com>, the acronym “ERC” referring, in this case, to the Ethereum Request for Comments (ERC-20) protocol, a standard used to issue tokens through the Ethereum platform.

The defendant had, at one time, used the domain name <batmanerc.com> and the trademark BATMAN in the context of services related to cryptocurrency. No beneficial joker card for the defendant who, upon receipt of the UDRP complaint, eradicated any reference to the BATMAN trademark and then, during the proceedings, declared that he did not oppose the transfer of the domain name.

In terms of cybersquatting, the imagination knows no limits!
