The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has announced the launch of an audit program to examine how registrars are meeting their contractual obligations related to handling reports of potentially abusive domains. This audit follows a 2019 program that aimed to understand how registries are fulfilling their relative contractual obligations to security threats. Out of more than 2,380 accredited registrars, ICANN identified 153 that had more than five potentially abusive domains as of November 2020.
